Important Notice About Copyright Laws

Please read the USGenWeb's Frequently Asked Questions about copyrights before making look-up requests.

USGenWeb's Official Policy

USGenWeb will not tolerate any copyright violations. Lookup requests should be limited to one name, or perhaps two if it is a married couple.  Information given will be minimal, for example if it is a cemetery lookup, the information will be the name of the cemetery and the dates on the headstone. Please do not ask for "everybody with X surname" or an entire family group, or for hardcopies to be mailed; the volunteers have been asked not to comply with such requests.

Our lookups will extend to searching the book to determine if the book would be helpful to you in your research. Should the book prove useful, we can provide the author's address and ordering information.

If you have a book on Leavenworth County and it is either in the public domain or you have permission from the author or publisher to do lookups in it, please let me know .

To request a lookup please follow these simple guidelines:

Failure to follow these simple guidelines could result in
your request being overlooked or ignored.

A copy of "Four Centuries in Kansas" by Bliss Isley and W.M. Richards, published by The State of Kansas, copyright 1944 (rev. from 1936 edition), just came into my posession. It's an elementary school textbook, so covers a myriad of topics, but mentions several prominent and pioneer citizens. I'd be glad to do lookups regarding SPECIFIC individuals. Here are a few surnames: Armstrong, Blanton, Carey, Chouteau, Coffee, Coleman, Deaver, Dougherty, Holliday, Howe, Hutchinson, Johnson, Lowe, Mathewson, Simmerwell, Spencer, Squire, Stringfellow, Wallace, Weaver  Rose Richards
